Introduction
Konparatiboak adjektiboekin eta adberbioekin gauzak, pertsonak edo ekintzak konparatzeko erabiltzen dira, haien arteko berdintazun eta ezberdintasunak adierazteko.
Berdintasun konparatiboak (as…as klausula) helburu berdinarekin erabiltzen dira.

Form
Normalean berdintasun konparatioen egiturak (as…as klausula) hiru forma honetan aurkitzen ditugu:
Baiezko formak:
Subject + verb + as + adjective/adverb + as + object + …
Subject + verb + as + adjective/adverb + noun + as + object + …
Ezezko formak:
Subject + verb + not + as + adjective/adverb + as + object + …
Subject + verb + not + as + adjective/adverb + noun + as + object + …
Galdera formak:
Verb + subject + as + adjective/adverb + as + object + …?
Verb + subject + as + adjective/adverb + noun + as + object + …?
Example
Gauza berdinez hitz egiteko (baiezkoak)
- This box of biscuits is as big as mine.
- This restaurant makes food as good as my mum’s.
Gauza ezberdinez hitz egiteko (ezezkoak)
- A kilo of potatoes is not as expensive as a kilo of steaks.
- Her mountain boots are not as cheap as his backpack.
Berdintasun/ezberdintasunei buruz informazioa galdetzeko (galdera)
- Is this box of biscuits as big as mine?
- Do I have champagne as cold as yours?
Use
Berdintasun konparatiboak (as…as klausulak) hurrengorako:
- Gauza berdinez hitz egiteko (baiezkoak);
- Gauza ezberdinez hitz egiteko (ezezkoak);
- Berdintasun/ezberdintasunei buruz informazioa galdetzeko (galdera).
Summary
Berdintasun konparatiboak (edo as…as klausula) bi gauzen, pertsonen edo ekintzen arteko berdintasun edo desberdintasunak nabarmentzeko erabiltzen dira.
As…as klausulak formazio ezberdinen arau generalak jarraitzen ditu (baiezkoa, ezezkoa eta galderak). As…as klausulekin, lehen as-ekin hasten gara eta adjetibo eta adberbio bat gehi beste as bat eta objektua ondoren. Substantibo bat ere jarri dezakegu adjektibo edo adberbio baten atzetik.
Adibidez:
— Baiezkoa: “My doll is as lovely as yours.”
— Ezezkoa: “My doll is not as lovely as yours.”
— Galdera: “Is my doll as lovely as yours?”
