Introduction

Porównania z przymiotnikami i przysłówkami są używane do porównywania ludzi lub działań, wyrażając równości lub nierówności między nimi.

Porównania równości (jako… jak zdanie składowe) używa się w tym samym celu.

Form

Zazwyczaj struktura zdań porównawczych (as as) w trzech formach:

Twierdzenia:
Subject + verb + as + adjective/adverb + as + object + …
Subject + verb + as + adjective/adverb + noun + as + object + …

Przeczenie:
Subject + verb + not + as + adjective/adverb + as + object + …
Subject + verb + not + as + adjective/adverb + noun + as + object + …

Pytania:
Verb + subject + as + adjective/adverb + as + object + …?
Verb + subject + as + adjective/adverb + noun + as + object + …?

Example

  1. Identyczne rzeczy
    • This box of biscuits is as big as mine.
    • This restaurant makes food as good as my mum’s.
  2. Różne rzeczy
    • A kilo of potatoes is not as expensive as a kilo of steaks.
    • Her mountain boots are not as cheap as his backpack.
  3. Zadawanie pytań na temat podobieństw i różnic
    • Is this box of biscuits as big as mine?
    • Do I have champagne as cold as yours?

Use

Używamy porównania równości (zdanie as…as) to:

  1. Mówienia o rzeczach, które są identyczne (forma twierdząca);
  2. Mówienia o rzeczach, które są różne (forma przecząca);
  3. Zadawania pytań na temat różnic i podobieństw (forma pytająca).

Summary

Porównania równości (lub zdań składowych as… as) używa się do podkreślenia równości lub nierówności między dwiema rzeczami, ludźmi lub działaniami.

  • Twierdzenie:
    Subject + verb + as + adjective/adverb + as + object + …

  • Przeczenie:
    Subject + verb + not + as + adjective/adverb + as + object + …

Na przykład:
— Twierdzenie: “My doll is as lovely as yours.”
— Przeczenie: “My doll is not as lovely as yours.”
— Pytanie: “Is my doll as lovely as yours?
