Introduction

Jednostavno sadašnje vrijeme [present simple] je glagolsko vrijeme koje se koristi za izricanje radnji koje se redovito događaju i stalno ponavljaju.

Kada se koristi u upitnom obliku, glagol postavlja pitanje o subjektu.

Form

Present simple u upitnom obliku ima ovu strukturu:
Do/does + subject + verb + …?

  • Do/does: treće lice jednine se mijenja iz do u does;
  • Glagol: osnovni oblik glagola ostaje isti (bez promjena);
  • Nepravilni oblik glagola biti: Am I…? – Are you…? – Is she…? …

    • Does the sun rise from the West?

  5. Stalne situacije

  6. Obećanja
    • Do you promise to buy me a new phone?
    • Do you swear you’ll go to the doctor?
    • Do you promise me you’ll give me your phone number?
  7. Instrukcije
    • How do I get to the library?
    • Where do I go?
    • How do we get to the train station?
  8. Dovršene radnje koje se događaju u trenutku kad govorimo.
    • Do the brigades disappear?
    • Do the police catch the thief?
    • Does Real Madrid recover from two goals down?
  9. Neformalno pripovijedanje
    • Does the Beast transform into a prince?
    • Does Snow White fall asleep?
    • Does Little Red Riding-Hood meet the wolf?

Use

Present simple u upitnom obliku koristimo za postavljanje pitanja o:

  1. Budućim događajima (planovima s već određenim datumom);
  2. Voznim redovima (planiranim događajima s točnim vremenom);
  3. Navikama/rutinama (nešto što se događa u više navrata u< ovom trenutku);
  4. Činjenicama (stvari koje su istinite, navedene);
  5. Stalnim situacijama (koje se trenutno odvijaju i koje će se dogoditi u budućnosti);
  6. Obećanjima;
  7. Uputama (narudžbama);
  8. Završenim radnjama u trenutku pripovijedanja (komentarima);
  9. Neformalnim pripovijedanjima (kod pričanja priča).

Summary

Jednostavno sadašnje vrijeme [present simple] u upitnom obliku koristimo za postavljanje pitanja o događajima koji se pojavljuju stalno i redovito.

Struktura:
Do/does + subject + verb + …? (does za treće lice jednine)

Naprimjer:
— “Do you work on important projects?” =
— “Does she work on important projects?” =

NAPOMENA: Glagol biti je nepravilan glagol stoga ne prati opće pravilo tvorbe negativnih oblika. Kako bi formirali pitanje stavljamo ga na početak rečenice.
