Introduction
Adverbs jsou výrazy, které modifikují ostatní slovní druhy. Poskytují nám větší škálu informací.
Ta, která dodávají informaci ohledně způsobu, jak se něco děje, se nazývají Adverbs of Manner.
EXTRA: Adverbs = Příslovce; Adverbs of Manner = Příslovce Způsobu.
Form
Adverbs of Manner mají následující formu:
adjective + -ly.

Některá příslovce jsou nepravidelná a platí na ně jiné pravidlo, nebo jednoduše zachovávají tvar přídavného jména, například:

Regular
- He was very badly hurt in the accident.
- She didn’t know exactly what happened.
- She told them that she had a headache but they continued talking too loudly.

- She went to the Social Welfare and asked politely for help.
Irregular
- He put orange juice in the fridge fast.
- You said it well.
- This job is so hard, I need a drink.
- He answered my question late.
- Hold the bottle straight.

Adverbs of Manner vyjadřují jakým způsobem něco probíhá.
Vždy je stavíme za sloveso a lze je pojit se slovy very či too.
