Introduction
Przysłówki [adverbs] są wyrażeniami, które działają jako modyfikatory innych elementów klauzuli. Mogą zapewnić szeroki zakres informacji.
Przysłówki miejsca [adverbs of place] dostarczają informacji o miejscu akcji.
Form
Przysłówki miejsca nie są używane jako modyfikatory innego przymiotnika lub przysłówka. W zdaniu pojawiają się po obiektach lub czasownikach.
Najczęściej używane to: here, there, downstairs, upstairs, inside, outside, indoors, outdoors, anywhere, abroad…
Example
- A packet of flour was here yesterday.
- He was there at the bar 2 minutes before.
- The non alcoholic drinks are downstairs.
- They are sitting upstairs.
- I stay inside and have a warm meal when the weather is bad.
- Everybody is outside.
- Stay indoors and don’t ask questions.
Use
Przysłówki miejsca dają nam informacje o lokalizacji czynności opisanej w zdaniu.
