Introduction

Edatlar [prepositions] cümledeki diğer ögelerle bağlantılıdır. Hareket edatları [prepositions of movement] hareketler ve yer değişiklikleri hakkında ek bilgi sağladığı için kullanımları çok önemlidir.

Form

Hareketlerden ve yer değişikliklerinden bahsetmek için Hareket Edatları kullanılır.

Kullanımları aşağıdaki durumlara bağlıdır:

  • Bir yere doğru veya bir yerden hareket etme: to, from, down, up, away from…
  • Bir yerden diğerine hareket etme: across, along…
  • Yer değişikliği: in/into, on/onto, out of, off, over, under…

Example

  1. Bir yere doğru veya bir yerden hareket etme
    • Northern wind goes to Turkey every winter.
    • My mother came from the garden.
    • The baby pig fell down the stairs.
    • I’m going up to the second floor to see the sky.
    • Get away from the olive trees!
  2. Bir yerden diğerine hareket etme
    • Be careful when you go across the streets. It is snowing.
    • Every Sunday we go for a walk along the coast.
  3. Yer değişikliği
    • My grandfather is coming into the garden.
    • My sister’s cat always jumps on/onto the table.
    • Your dog is out of your apartment right now.
    • Can you get off the bed and go to the supermarket, please?
    • The plane flies over the hill.
    • The subway runs under the street level.

Use

Hareket Edatları aşağıda verildiği gibi farklı kullanım nedenleri vardır:

  1. Bir yere doğru veya bir yerden hareket etme:
  2. Bir yerden diğerine hareket etme:
  3. Yer değişikliği.

Summary

Hareket Edatlarını [Prepositions of Movement] kullanarak hareketlerden ve konum değişikliklerinden bahsederiz:

  • Bir yere doğru veya bir yerden hareket etme: to, from, down, up, away from…
  • Bir yerden diğerine hareket etme: across, along…
  • Yer değişikliği: in/into, on/onto, out of, off, over, under…

Örnek:
— “I go to Ibiza every summer.” = Belirli bir noktaya varmak için yer değişikliği yapıldığı için to edatı kullanılmıştır.
— “My grandfather walks in/into the living room.” = Üç boyutlu bir yere girmek için yapılan bir değişiklikten bahsedildiği için in/into edatı kullanılmıştır.
— “Be careful when you go across the streets.” = Bir yolun bir kısmından diğerine yapılan yer değişikliği belirtildiği için across edatı kullanılmıştır.
