Introduction
Prislovi [adverbs] so samostalniki, ki funkcionirajo kot modifikatorji drugih elementov v stavku. Lahko nam dajo širok spekter informacij.
Časovni prislovi [adverbs of time] nam dajejo informacije o času.
Form
Prislovi ponavadi stojijo za pomožnimi glagoli (to be/to have) ali pred drugimi glagoli.
Časovne prislove uporabljamo za opisovanje časa dogodka ali dejanja.
Najpogosteje rabljeni so: now, yesterday, tonight, tomorrow, today, soon, already, later, all day, since…
Example
- I am reading now.
- A famous singer died yesterday.
- Are you throwing a party tonight?
- Anna is getting married tomorrow.
- I should do it today.
- See you soon!
- We have already divorced.
- I think she will give you her e-mail address later.
- We were at my dad’s house all day.
- We have lived together since 1999.
Use
S časovnimi prislovi pokažemo, kdaj se je nekaj zgodilo ali kdaj je nekdo nekaj naredil. Nekateri časovni prislovi izražajo tudi koliko časa je dejanje trajalo in kako pogosto se je dogajalo (frequency).
