Introduction
Prislovi [adverbs] so izrazi, ki delujejo kot modifikatorji drugih elementov v stavku. Dodajo lahko širok spekter informacij.
Krajevni prislovi [adverbs of place] dajejo informacije o kraju dejanja.
Form
Krajevni prislovi ne modificirajo drugih pridevnikov ali prislovov. V povedi stojijo za predmeti ali glagoli.
Najpogosteje rabljeni so: here, there, downstairs, upstairs, inside, outside, indoors, outdoors, anywhere, abroad…
Example
- A packet of flour was here yesterday.
- He was there at the bar 2 minutes before.
- The non alcoholic drinks are downstairs.
- They are sitting upstairs.
- I stay inside and have a warm meal when the weather is bad.
- Everybody is outside.
- Stay indoors and don’t ask questions.
Use
Krajevni prislovi nam dajejo informacije o lokaciji dejanja, opisanega v povedi.

Na primer:
— “Are you looking for a vegetarian sandwich? It´s here.” = Here uporabljamo za izražanje položaja nečesa (na tej točki).
