Use

Naudojame there is/are kaip išsireiškimą, kai norime patvirtinti, paneigti ar įsitikinti, kad kažkas egzistuoja.

Summary

There is (vienaskaita) ir there are (daugiskaita) yra naudojami, kai norime patvirtinti (teigiama [affirmative] forma), paneigti (neigiamoji [negative] forma) arba įsitikinti (klausiamoji [interrogative] forma), jog kažkas egzistuoja.

Pavyzdžiui:
Teigiama forma [affirmative]: “There is a white plate.” / “There are white plates.”
Neigiama forma [negative]: “There isn’t a white plate.” / “There aren’t white plates.”
Klausiamoji forma [interrogative]: “Is there a white plate? / “Are there white plates?

There is no ir there are no yra dažniausiai naudojamos neigiamos formos.

Pavyzdžiui:
— „There is no plate on the table.“ / „There are no plates on the table.“

PASTABA: Kita dažnai naudojama neigiama forma [negative] yra there are not any.
