Introduction
Zámená [pronouns] sú slová, ktoré sa používajú, aby sme predišli opakovaniu podstatného mena.
Privlastňovacie zámená [possessive pronouns] sú determinanty, ktoré vyjadrujú, že určitá vec patrí určitej osobe.
Form
Privlastňovacie zámená používame na nahradenie podstatného mena. Pred zámenami nepoužívame členy ani iné determinanty.
Privlastňovacie zámená sú tieto:

Example
- It is not her sandwich, it’s mine.
- This is hers.
- His house is big, but ours is small.
Use
Privlastňovacie zámená používame, keď chceme vyjadriť, že určitá vec patrí určitej osobe, ale aj keď chceme predísť opakovaniu podstatného mena.

Privlastňovacie zámená [possessive pronouns] používame, keď chceme vyjadriť, že niečo patrí určitej osobe či zvieraťu. Rozlišujú sa podľa rodu a čísla a používame ich miesto podstatných mien, aby sme predišli opakovaniu.
Sú to: mine, yours, his, hers, its, ours, yours a theirs.
Napríklad:
— „It is not her sandwich, it’s mine.“ = Mine nahrádza iný vetný člen (je to privlastňovacie zámeno).
♦ „It is not her sandwich, it’s my sandwich.“ = Her a my popisujú iný vetný člen (sú to privlastňovacie prídavné mená).
