Introduction
Komparatív používame na porovnanie dvoch predmetov, osôb alebo dejov, zatiaľ čo superlatív vyjadruje nadradenosť jedného predmetu, osoby či deje.
Niektoré prídavné mená a príslovky majú nepravidelný komparatív a superlatív.
Form
Nepravidelné komparatívy a superlatívy sa neriadi všeobecným pravidlom pre ich tvorbu, musíme sa ich teda naučiť naspamäť. Tými najpoužívanejšími prídavnými menami a príslovkami s nepravidelným komparatívom a superlatívom sú:

Example
Komparatív
- Susan is a better assistant than her sister.
- You have to go farther to get to the lawyer’s office.
- Peter is going to talk to him later about the house.
Superlatív
- John is the best assistant in the office.
- This is the furthest point I’ve ever reached in the agency!
- They come to the garage the latest.
Use
Nepravidelné komparatívy a superlatívy používame rovnakým spôsobom ako tie pravidelné.
Summary
Nepravidelné tvary prídavných mien/prísloviek v komparatíve a superlatíve sa netvorí rovnakým spôsobom ako tie pravidelné a treba sa ich naučiť naspamäť.
Tými najpoužívanejšími sú:
- Bad (adj.) – badly (adv.) ⇒ worse (comp.) – the worst (super.);
- Good (adj.) – well (adv.) ⇒ better (comp.) – the best (super.).
Napríklad:
— Komparatív: “You can write a good CV.” ⇒ “You can write a better CV.” / “You can write a gooder CV.“
— Superlatív: “You can write a good CV.” ⇒ “You can write the best CV.” / “You can write the goodest CV.“
