Introduction
Komparativ [comparative] používáme k porovnání dvou předmětů, osob nebo dějů, zatímco superlativ [superlative] vyjadřuje nadřazenost jednoho předmětu, osoby či děje.
Některá přídavná jména a příslovce mají nepravidelný komparativ a superlativ [irregular comparative and superlative].
Form
Nepravidelné komparativy a superlativy se neřídí obecným pravidlem pro jejich tvorbu, musíme se je tedy naučit nazpaměť. Těmi nejpoužívanějšími přídavnými jmény a příslovci s nepravidelným komparativem a superlativem jsou:

Example
Komparativ
- Susan is a better assistant than her sister.
- You have to go farther to get to the lawyer’s office.
- Peter is going to talk to him later about the house.
Superlativ
- John is the best assistant in the office.
- This is the furthest point I’ve ever reached in the agency!
- They come to the garage the latest.
Use
Nepravidelné komparativy a superlativy používáme stejným způsobem jako ty pravidelné.

Nepravidelné tvary přídavných jmen/příslovcí v komparativu [comparative] a superlativu [superlative] se netvoří stejným způsobem jako ty pravidelné a je třeba se je naučit nazpaměť.
Těmi nejpoužívanějšími jsou:
- Bad (adj.) – badly (adv.) ⇒ worse (comp.) – the worst (super.);
- Good (adj.) – well (adv.) ⇒ better (comp.) – the best (super.).
Například:
— Komparativ: “You can write a good CV.” ⇒ “You can write a better CV.” / “You can write a gooder CV.“
— Superlativ: “You can write a good CV.” ⇒ “You can write the best CV.” / “You can write the goodest CV.“
